Indian rupee depreciation per US dollar: over the last decade it continuously depreciated, beginning 2008 at approximately 38.4 rupees per dollar and closing 2018 at nearly 70 rupees per dollar. As the rupee weakens against the dollar, concerns increases with regard to India's current account deficit and a potential outflow of the US dollar from equity markets.
