Aran is the top region by horses in Azerbaijan. As of 2012, horses in Aran was 18,902 heads that accounts for 27.46% of Azerbaijan's horses. The top 5 regions (others are Shaki-Zagatala, Ganja-Gazakh, Guba-Khachmaz, and Dakhlik Shirvan) account for 84.96% of it. Azerbaijan's total horses was estimated at 68,844 heads in 2012.
