Aran is the top region by cattle in Azerbaijan. As of 2012, cattle in Aran was 882,928 heads that accounts for 40.61% of Azerbaijan's cattle. The top 5 regions (others are Ganja-Gazakh, Shaki-Zagatala, Guba-Khachmaz, and Dakhlik Shirvan) account for 83.77% of it. Azerbaijan's total cattle was estimated at 2.17 million heads in 2012.
