Methodology: The processing of foreign trade data is done with reference to Decision N ° 06/96 / CM / UEMOA of 14 May 1996 on the creation and codification of Customs, Statistical and Tax Regimes in WAEMU and Regulation N ° 03 / 2004 / CM / UEMOA of July 5, 2004 fixing the modalities for drawing up the foreign trade statistics of WAEMU Member States. External trade statistics are broken down by product according to the international nomenclature of the Harmonized System (10-digit code) and according to the partner country table (origin, destination). A Committee for the monitoring of external trade statistics, including representatives of the BCEAO National Agency, ANSD, DTAI, DGD and the Directorate of Foreign Trade, was set up to regularly rule on the problems related to the production of the data. This committee is currently meeting when needed. The data disseminated for Senegal's foreign trade correspond to the special trade statistics (FOB (Freight on Board), CIF (Freight Insurance Cost)) exports, as defined in the UN Global Standard on Foreign Trade Statistics. . The Harmonized System (HS) of the World Customs Organization (WCO) is the nomenclature used for product registration. Scope: Foreign trade statistics record all merchandise trade between a given statistical territory and each of the other statistical territories. Statistical territory means any territory subject to the same customs control. In practice, statistical territories are identified by geographical codes. ANSD collects, produces and disseminates official foreign trade statistics from raw data provided by the General Directorate of Customs of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Planning on a monthly basis.
