The National Statistics Institute (INE) is the central executive organ of the National Statistical System (SEN), which is responsible for the production and dissemination of official statistics. INE is the executive body of the SEN and has the following responsibilities: Orient, coordinate, carry out the statistical activity of the SEN, as well as centralize and disseminate the official statistical information concerning the country; Conduct census and statistical surveys; Prepare the National Accounts; To elaborate technical instruments of statistical coordination; Establish and keep up-to-date a general register of companies and establishments for statistical purposes; The National Statistical System (SEN) is the organic group composed of public and private entities involved in the exercise of official statistical activity of national interest. The SEN comprises the following bodies: National Statistical Council; National Institute of Statistics; Central Bank of São Tomé and Príncipe; Delegated Bodies of INE.
