Oklahoma Corporation Commission

Established in 1907 by Article 9 of the Oklahoma Constitution and authorized by the First Legislature to regulate public service corporations, the Commission cur‐ rently regulates a wide range of activities in four Core Program Areas: 1) oil and gas drilling and production; 2) public utility and telecommunica‐ tions; 3) motor carrier, rail, and pipeline transpor‐ tation; and 4) petroleum storage tanks. Collec‐ tively, these responsibilities affect industries that are critical components of the State’s economy and touch the lives of all Oklahomans.
