Basic Statistics Portal, The United Republic of Tanzania

The Basic Statistics Portal is established to provide data in a machine readable format to be used and re-used by anybody. The data provided apply only to data and information produced or commissioned by government especially the prioritized sectors of Education, Water and Health. By making this data publicly available, a wide range of actors can be brought into the policy processes and debates, bringing valuable new ideas and new thinking to policy making, and stronger public participation in monitoring and citizen feedback. The Basic Statistics Portal is managed by the Basic Statistics working group comprising of National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) under the Ministry of Finance, e-Government Agency and National Archive Department under the President’s Office Public Services Management.
