In 2016, CO2 emissions in Kenya was 16.81 million metric tons. In the ranking by CO2 emissions including 190 countries, Kenya has the 89th rank that is close to the positions of such countries as Kazakhstan and the Kiribati. Compared to Afghanistan which at the top of the ranking with CO2 emissions of 4.92 million metric tons in 2016, Kenya has 241.90 % percent higher CO2 emissions.
