In 2013, projected aging index for Jeju-do was 79.1 number of people 60 years and older per 100 youth 0-14 years. Between 1994 and 2013, projected aging index of Jeju-do grew substantially from 26.8 to 79.1 number of people 60 years and older per 100 youth 0-14 years rising at an increasing annual rate that reached a maximum of 7.48% in 2009 and then decreased to 5.47% in 2013.
