The Central Statistics Office's primary function is to provide Government Ministries and Departments, Non-Governmental Organisations and members of the public in general, with information for monitoring, evaluation and formulation of development plans and programmes. It performs this function through collection, processing and analysis of data; reporting and dissemination of results through publications, workshop and seminars

      The national Consumer Price Index went up by 0.4 percent, from 127.1 in November to 127.6 in December 2022. The Rural Villages index moved from 127.0 in November to 127.6 in December 2022, recording a rise of 0.5 percent. The Urban Villages index rose by 0.4 percent from 127.3 to 127.8 during the period under review, whilst the Cities & Towns index stood at 127.4 in December 2022, registering an increase of 0.3 percent from 127.0 recorded in November 2022.
